But why should I expect you – or the state – to bring up my child, when I can’t?
And why should I pay to bring up your child when you can’t?
Having kids is a choice – it’s not a right. It may be an accident.
Since 1974, when single women could get the pill, it’s been easy to plan a family. Right now, you can choose how many kids you have – and think long and hard before you do and decide if you can pay to bring them up well.
If we’d ‘stopped at two’ in ’62, we’d be fine. But now it’s 2015 and there are so many of us – too many of us – that everything is getting scarcer and some things may run out.
